Regenerating Our Land and Communities
LachLandcare Inc is an advocate, communicator and mentor for landcare ideas and action in the Lachlan. It aims to create resilient landscapes and communities through collaborative partnerships that optimise use of resources.
Several District Landcare groups make up Lachlandcare Inc. Each group has a Landcare Support Officer employed on a part time basis, and they and Lachlandcare are supported by Regional Landcare Facilitators.
LachLandcare Facilitator role
To promote the uptake of sustainable farm practices including soil, vegetation management and farming systems.
To establish support, and develop Landcare and production groups and to help them link together and with regional NRM bodies .
To promote opportunities for groups and networks to access public and private funds to improve on-farm NRM outcomes.
Lachlandcare currently networks nine Landcare groups in the Lachlan Catchment. Our network and the Regional Landcare Facilitators can provide various community, social networking and farming opportunities. We attempt to be aware of issues at a “grass roots” level and assist Landcare members to identify and implement projects “on-the-ground”.
