NSW Decade of Landcare Evaluation
The Decade of Landcare Evaluation is a review published by the former NSW Department of Land and Water Conservation, looking at Landcare initiatives carried in the period 1990 to 2000.
This period was declared the Decade of Landcare by the Australian Soil Conservation Ministers in 1989. NSW, along with the Commonwealth and all other States and Territories, developed Decade of Landcare Plans which aimed to reverse and prevent land degradation and sustainable land use.
As the Evaluation is an important window on the earlier days of the NSW Landcare movement, the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water has posted the Evaluation's summary and full document below. The summary reviews Landcare's influence and achievements against the Plan goals, objectives and actions, while the full version contains a compilation of a variety of landcare achievements and is a detailed reference for policy makers, researchers and students.
