Pittwater Geology Tour
Pittwater Natural Heritage Association (PNHA) are hosting a Pittwater Geology Tour with Dr Peter Mitchell on Sunday 15 July 2012, 9am-3pm.
Pittwater’s rich and varied flora, fauna and landscape are based on its interesting geology and landforms. Why are some soils rich and others sandy and dry? How old are our rocks?
Dr Peter Mitchell, formerly of Macquarie University Earth Sciences department, will guide a tour explaining local landscapes, rocks and soils.
Car pooling or tag along.
Meet at Coastal Environment Centre carpark on Lake Park Rd, Narrabeen. Bring drink, lunch, snacks, raincoat. The tour will stop for a picnic lunch
