M2100 has a Composting Workshop with Jack Waterman and Merlene Olson at "Weeambelah" Trangie on 17 & 18 March 2010.

Thinking of making Compost or Compost Tea? All are welcome from small gardeners to large scale farmers.

You will learn:

  • About making small scale compost (fungal & bacterial) for the principal aim of brewing compost teas

  • An overview of protozoa and nematode inoculums as well as an outline what their roles are in the soil system

  • How to adopt these practices in larger scale operations

  • The process required to brew beneficial compost teas (particularly fungal dominated brews)

  • The different types of compost tea brewers

  • Protozoa brews (how to and when to combine with compost teas)

  • The application of compost teas and protozoa brews, including food sources
