How do we extend the use of PlaceStories in communicating community NRM?

Submitted by LNSW on 4 May 2009 - 3:08pm
  • PlaceStories

Following the regional PlaceStories training workshops there is now a widespread consensus that PlaceStories can play a key role in enabling:

  • NRM community groups to share their project experiences within & across regions and states (PlaceStories started in Qld, Feral Arts begin training workshops in South Australia in May and last week met with Vic Landcare to discuss a similar launch);
  • CMAs and agencies to promote best management practices on websites, at field days and trainings; and
  • All NRM practitioners large and small to more easily and effectively monitor and report their activities and capture the attention of boards, corporates and the general public by easily communicating what they do to promote sustainable supply of quality food and environmental services and biodiversity (e.g. by native veg management, weed control and preservation of threatened species, etc)

There will be a wrap-up workshop for the LNSWi PlaceStories Regional Training Project in Parramatta on May 29:

9.30 am - 4.00 pm
Friday May 29
Large conference room
DECC’s National Parks & Wildlife Office
Level 1, 10 Valentine Avenue
Parramatta

All interested are welcome to attend. If you can't attend, we’d still appreciate your comments and suggestions.
