Date:
21 Apr 2010 - 10:00am

The New England North West Landcare Adventure will be hosted in Tenterfield by Granite Borders Landcare Committee on 21-22 April 2010 with the assistance of the other Landcare Networks from across the region.

An interesting and diverse program is being prepared. There will be visits to various sites in the area looking at farm diversification; soil health; erosion control; whole farm planning and a variety of soil improvement treatments.

The Landcare Olympics will be one of the exciting highlights of the Landcare Adventure with activities on soils; weeds; pastures; fish; birds and all things NRM.

The Landcare Adventure would not be complete without the Awards Dinner. This dinner is held to highlight the achievements made by outstanding Landcarers across the region.

You do not need to be involved in a Landcare Group to attend. The Adventure is designed to be an opportunity for likeminded people to get together and share ideas and knowledge and learn about natural resource management with fun and social activities included.

It is a two day event with the registration fee of $75 per person (community members) covering bus travel, all meals, accommodation and the Awards Dinner.

This year the Adventure is supported by the Australian Government’s Community Action Grants, Landcare Australia Limited, Northern Rivers CMA, Border Rivers Gwydir CMA and Namoi CMA, as well as other local sponsors.

Through funds provided by Landcare Australia Limited, Landcare Groups who participate in the Landcare Adventure have the opportunity to gain $2,500 for on ground activities in their group.

For more information and a registration form please click here for the Landchat newsletter on the Southern New England Landcare website. If you require any further information please contact the Granite Borders Landcare Office on 02 6736 3500 or email landcare@halenet.com.au.
