Sycamore War at Jenolan Caves
The Sycamore War is a weekend organised by the Lithgow and Oberon Landcare Association (LOLA) on 1 and 2 May 2010.
Participants will be staying in bunk style accommodation at Caves House at Jenolan Caves.
Participants, with instruction from local contractors and volunteers, will be helping to control Sycamore trees that have taken over the hill sides near the caves. Some of the worksites are steep and uneven and so should be challenging places on which to work, although there are some easier areas if you do not want the challenging work sites.
As well as the accommodation, LOLA will organise a caves tour on Saturday afternoon and a BBQ dinner.
The activity is run by LOLA, the National Parks & Wildlife Service & Jenolan Caves Trust. Please click here for a placestory about the project on the Hawkesbury-Nepean PlaceStories webpage.
