To promote shovel-ready Landcare projects to potential benefactors
I would like to see PlaceStories be used as an effective (advertising) tool which can be used by landcarers/groups/land managers as the medium by which they communicate their desires to carry out potential projects/on-ground works, not simply as a medium for reporting projects completed. The placeStory then forms the basis of the application for funds. The PlaceStory can be posted to the LNSWi website and the website can become the shopfront for advertising projects from landcarers/groups looking for benefactors (govt. /private/corporate) to help fund their projects. This way the landcarers/groups have ownership of their projects and it turns the current funding conundrum on its head making Landcare pro-active in sourcing funds instead of re-active in responding to funding opportunities. We become the go-to guys with shovel-ready projects. This would also save considerable resources being spent by benefactors wishing to fund projects on having to establish an application process.
