  • Landcare - Hunter

The Gloucester Project is an initiative of a group of residents who are concerned about the impacts of climate change including the related issues of energy supply and cost, food production and production, pure water supply and fuel costs - and about the economic future of our community. Membership is representative of town dwellers and rural folk, of workforce participants and retirees. Significantly, many members are already engaged in food production, and are eager to promote energy efficient and sustainable practices. This ensures that we have a sound economy and appropriate lifestyle in the future.

Gloucester is located on the South-Eastern part of our drying continent. It is between the coast and the Great Dividing Range, and so has a combination of geographic and cultural features which has made it a centre of food production, water catchment, water distribution and human occupation over many hundreds of years. Our natural and human resources make us stand out as our continent is impacted by climate changes, fuel crises, food production and distribution stresses and significant changes in energy generation and use.
